SCRAP STUFF

This is one of my many interests, the only one that has really stuck (if you pardon the pun).  I have been scrapping since 2006 and I still love to do it.  I actually managed to open up my wonderful Scrap Work Box the other day, a rarity these days but hopefully as Jnr grows and I have more time I will be able to relax with it open more and more.  Please feel free to leave comments about postings on here on the EVERYDAY STUFF page.  Thank you.

Read / watched a very interesting and inspiring blog and video today on  www.shimelle.com .  She talks about how we as scrapbookers shouldn't be embarrassed about our hobby.  How we should look more at the story behind the pictures rather than the pictures themselves and of course she is absolutely right.
Please watch and be inspired ........

Had a great day today...... really got on well with my version of the Smash Book phenomenon.  Mine is called a Smoosh Book :)

I made it with papers that I know I won't use on a LO and of card stock, I also added some white sketch paper suitable for all kinds of drawing and painting.  I've added embellishments that I have had kicking about for years,  plus a couple of band new ones I got from Smiths earlier.
On some of the pages I have already stuck in things that I have had laying around not wanting to throw but not really full on LO things.  For instance, Danni's performance brochures and tickets, my old Madonna concert ticket, a card that came with flowers sent from my hubby and son, a wedding invitation and place cards from my best friends wedding.  Photo's of  Jnr when he got his first pair of shoes from Clarkes and the record card to go with it.

Birthday card

Production brochures and tickets

My dogs

Wedding invitation

papers I wouldn't use on a LO

My favourite quote

Sketch papers

 Madonna concert ticket

I have loved making this and I know I am going to love filling it up.  I know that around my house somewhere are lots of other nik nak bits that I do not wish to throw out but have, until now known what to do with them.
HAPPY SMOOSHING EVERYONE !!!

Wooo Hooo I have had a great afternoon and evening.  Its the first time in a long time I have actually been able to open up my beautiful Scrap Work Box and have a play.

I have even managed to complete a layout, a proper paper and sticky one (thats as oppose to the digital ones I have had to resort to of late due to space, time and lack of mojo).  I am quite pleased with the results.  I tried out some new techniques for me.  I have never used bubble wrap stencil, I have painted chipboards rather than try to preserve them by using them as stencils only, I have used cardboard beer mats to raise the photos.  I have allowed myself to play around with contrasting colours and incorporated pattern papers without feeling too nervous.
The journalling says :
You like to play a game where you make happy and sad faces.  It always makes me giggle.  Of course its the happy face I love the most.  I love you so much xxx
